About the Role

Amsterdam Nursing Home is looking for a dedicated Part-Time Healthcare Cook to join the culinary team at our Skilled Nursing Facility in Manhattan. We're looking for someone with strong communication skills and hands-on experience preparing food at scale for a healthcare or institutional setting.

What You'll Do

1. Prepare, cook, and serve a variety of meals
2. Bake items like rolls, cookies, cakes, and pies
3. Work the tray line during meal service
4. Handle general kitchen cleanup duties
5. Wash and sanitize pots, pans, and cooking equipment
6. Take on other related kitchen tasks as needed
7. Step in to oversee kitchen operations when the Food Service Director is unavailable

What We're Looking For

1. At least 1 year of experience in large-scale/high-volume cooking
2. Solid understanding of large-scale and therapeutic (medically-tailored) food preparation
3. Physically able to handle kitchen work
4. Comfortable working as part of a team
5. High school diploma or equivalent
6. Strong customer service and communication skills
