About the Role
The Spa at The Mark Hotel has partnered with Augustinus Bader to bring together The Mark's signature hospitality with Augustinus Bader's expertise in luxury wellness. Joining this team means being part of a fresh chapter at one of New York's most iconic hotels, helping shape a new standard for the luxury spa experience.
We're looking for a Part-Time Receptionist to be the friendly face guests see first and last during their visit. This role blends warm, professional guest service with smooth day-to-day management of the front desk.
What You'll Do
Front Desk & Guest Service
- Greet every guest with warmth as soon as they arrive
- Handle bookings — new appointments, rescheduling, and cancellations
- Respond to calls, emails, and guest questions in a timely, professional manner
- Process payments and keep transaction records accurate
- Stay up to date on spa treatments, services, products, policies, and current promotions
- Work closely with therapists and management for seamless daily operations
- Keep client records organized and current
- Help with daily opening and closing routines
- Keep the reception space tidy, inviting, and well-organized
- Support retail sales of spa products when needed
- Address guest concerns with professionalism, escalating when necessary
- Take on general administrative tasks as needed
Guest Experience
- Personalize each guest interaction to make it memorable
- Read guest needs proactively and respond with attentive service
- Communicate clearly, whether face-to-face, on the phone, or in writing
- Help build client loyalty through consistently positive experiences
- Handle client information with discretion and professionalism
Team Collaboration
- Coordinate closely with therapists, the Assistant Spa Manager, and Spa Manager
- Keep scheduling and appointment details accurate at all times
- Maintain an efficient, well-run front desk
- Follow spa protocols and service standards consistently
- Flag schedule changes or operational hiccups right away
- Pitch in during busy stretches and help maintain a positive team atmosphere
What We're Looking For
- Prior experience in reception, hospitality, luxury retail, wellness, or another guest-facing role is a plus
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- A polished, warm, and professional presence
- Detail-oriented with solid organizational skills
- Able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting
- Comfortable picking up new scheduling/POS systems
- Punctual and dependable
- Open to a flexible part-time schedule, including evenings and weekends
